The Giddy Up
The Giddy Up is something that was started between my friends and myself during the COVID-19 lockdown, with the original goal of having one of us run 4km (to the 2km lockdown limit and back) every day. I decided to track the distance against the distance that Frodo travels with the ring in The Lord of the Rings (http://lotrproject.com/timedistance) to give us something to aim for. It has since evolved from just running the 4km to cycling, walking, hiking, and taking the baby out in the pram with some people even pushing themselves to half marathon distances.
